The View From the Jury: Leigh Reyes
Last week, the ADC team left the friendly confines of its New York gallery and headed westward with the Advertising and Digital juries of the ADC 95th Annual Awards. While most award shows prefer to conduct their judging in tropical climes, this year we went against the grain, taking our esteemed and diverse group of judges more than 8,000 feet above sea level, to the frosty peaks of Beaver Creek, Colorado. Snow and skies replaced sea and sand, as ADC went all in on “après-ski”. The result was still the same: incredible minds got together to debate and decide the most Cube-worthy advertising and design work of the past year.
We asked a few of our Jury Members to share their experiences of the past week, as soon as they came down from their Rocky Mountain highs.

The days settled into a pattern, of 7:30 am coffee and 8:30 am promptly inside the jury rooms, scoring.
I wasn’t prepared for the cold, but I was definitely prepared for the judging process. It was a delight to be with people who cared so much about good work that they were willing to go into exhaustively detailed discussions with almost-strangers.

Connections formed and conversations flourished. I always feel smarter after listening to people from diverse backgrounds.
What we lacked in warmth outside, we more than made up for while chatting over s’mores around the fireplace.

Excellence in idea and craft is what sets ADC apart from other shows. The care shown by Jen and her team in putting together the juries sets a high level of craft in its own right. Thank you for an unforgettable experience.
