Photographer of the Day: Sean Connors

ADC Member loves the challenge of shooting concerts

Photography Month is in full swing here on the ADC blog. Each weekday we have featured a new photographer for the world to see. Some are veterans who have been working for years, some are just starting out, and some are just doing it for fun, a passion project of sorts. One thing they have in common: they are all ADC Members, part of our globe-spanning creative community. We hope that you enjoy their work as much as they love creating it!

How old were you when you took an interest in photography?

I was 16 when originally taking an interest in photography. My senior year of high school is when my parents bought me my first DSLR camera and was when I knew I seriously wanted to pursue photography as another creative outlet.

What do you love most about photography as an artform?

There is nothing quite like grabbing and holding on to a fleeting moment forever.

What is your favorite thing to shoot, and why do you love it so much?

I absolutely love shooting concerts. Attempting to capture and translate the energy and emotion of the live performance in a still always presents a unique and interesting challenge. Further, capturing artists in their raw and unfiltered state and interacting with a crowd is infinitely interesting to me.

What is your favorite piece of equipment?

My Olympus EPL II.

Which person most inspires your photographic passion? Which professional photographers do you look up to?

Kanye West is the person who most inspires me to continue pushing my photographic passion. His unrelenting push for the best from creatives has inspired me to not limit myself and not only be the best designer I can be, but the best photographer as well.

The photographers that I look up to include 13th Witness, David Alan Harvey, Steve Keros, Man Ray and Michael Kenna.
