The winners of AI-AP’s American Illustration 27 competition were announced today. Stefanie Augustine (from the ADC Young Guns 4 class, image at bottom right), Nick Dewar (ADC Young Guns 2, image at bottom left), Mark Todd (ADC Young Guns 2, image at very top), and Christoph Niemann (ADC Young Guns 3, horizontal image) are among the list. With over 7,500 illustrations submitted online, the competition’s jury met in March to view the images in person. After two days of consideration, they selected only 386 illustrations by majority vote or better to appear in the book and represent the best pictures from 2007.

AI27 will be distributed world-wide in hard cover in November. In the meantime, check out the online slide show here.
