Beneath the Surface

A new show opening May 1st at Nemo in Portland, Oregon, is entitled “Beneath the Surface: Flora, Fantasy & Fable in Surface Design” and highlights the work of influential, contemporary surface designers through the mediums of wallpaper, prints, and 3-dimensional objects. Included within the roster of talent is Deanne Cheuk (YG4). Her beautiful illustrations are a nice fit in this show, which focuses “on escapist and fantastical themes.” The exhibit is curated by Pattern People and “features utopian landscapes, folkloric fables, and interpretations of magical inner journeys.”
