Simon Chénier-Gauvreau

After graduating in 2009 from the UQÀM school of design, I had the chance to win the “Paprika graduate honors” and was a finalist in the “Sid Lee graduate honors”. I was then approached to work at Sid Lee, and also to complete an internship in the summer of 2009 at Paprika. After completing theses two freelancing experiences at both Sid Lee and Paprika, I was offered to work at gsmprjct°, an exhibition design firm located in Shanghai and Montréal. This experience led me to work on the Burj Khalifa observatory project which we built and completed in Dubai from 2009 to 2010. I then continued to work full time at gsmprjct°, completing other various graphic design and exhibition projects.

Looking to take on some new challenges, I decided to start my own graphic design studio in the summer of 2010. Beau (beau.designbureau.ca) was founded with two associates and led us to work in the field of graphic design and video directing mainly for TV show openings. We offered a variety of services ranging from art direction, advertising and graphic design, as well as video directing, shooting and motion design.

In 2013, I decided to leave the studio to rejoin my friends at Sid Lee. This decision let me to work as an art director specialized in graphic design, branding & video direction. This past year was full of surprises at Sid Lee, I had the chance to craft the new branding of the ADC and create many more exciting projects. I also founded the Mobile App company Leo & Taurus. We developed our first project, the app Gametime and are currently working on the second version of the app.
