Nicole Jacek (Chair)
Nicole Jacek is a German, award-winning graphic designer (Red Dot, D&AD, Art Directors Club, International Design Awards, Type Directors Club New York & Tokyo, etc.) and founder of Venice Beach based design studio NJ(L.A.)™, a small shop that opened up in May 2013, focusing on brand strategy, and serving both cultural and commercial clients, who value the power of design, effective solutions that transcend traditional disciplinary boundaries. NJ(L.A.)™ is responsible for the 2015 redesign of GOOD Magazine and continues to art direct and design the next issues. Clients include: Nike, Adobe, Beats by Dre, GOOD Magazine, Sarah Staton and New York University.
NJ began at the feet of the masters; working together with Stefan Sagmeister at Sagmeister Inc. and also Ian Anderson at the Designers Republic™/UK. Her work has been published in numerous magazines, newspapers, and books around the world. She was winner of Print’s New Visual Artists, as well as an ADC Young Gun. She currently serves as the youngest Art Directors Club Board Member, is an adjunct professor at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, and has been appointed to chair the ADC Young Guns committee for the upcoming YG season 2014/15. NJ was the Creative Director of karlssonwilker inc. in New York prior to opening up her studio and now enjoys skateboarding and her California tan.
