Nejc Prah

I’m Nejc, a graphic designer from Pijava Gorica. I finished my undergrad in Ljubljana and worked there for a bit before moving to the United States for the Yale MFA graphic design program in 2013. I moved to New York after graduation in 2015, currently working at Bloomberg Businessweek.

Identity for the Type Directors Club Tokyo 2015 Exhibition
Carpet is an interesting object; an abstract rectangle, potentially filled with any kind of imagery. Adding the tassels turns that rectangle into a carpet: a quick switch from abstraction to representation.

A Website for Dan Adlešič, A Product Designer from Slovenia
The website was made to present a set of objects he designed (the whole project is called Electricity is jut like WOAH!), but it functions a bit like an online extension of the work he is doing in real life. Some of the switches are useful, others not really, and you have to play around if you want to find all the stuff: hidden menu, work in progress photos, stories, the cube with samples of materials he made etc. The serif on the website is a typeface I designed and there’s a lot of custom lettering. Use Chrome browser for best experience.

Identity for Fotopub, A Photography Festival in Novo mesto, Slovenia
When the festival was reborn in 2013, the cracking egg symbolized the birth of something new. The identity is now an ongoing attempt to crack the egg. Last year with an industrial saw, this year with an archaic grape squeezing device, once common in the region where the festival happens.
Poster, a spread in a catalog, this and last year’s smoking papers (pre-fold), website, Facebook banners and other front/back business card.
