Imaginary Forces
In the past 15 years, Michelle Dougherty has led projects for Broadcast / Network Design, Television and Film Title Sequences, Feature Film Marketing, Advertising, and Experiential Design. She is both a graduate and former teacher at Art Center, Pasadena, and carries a strong point of view that design is a discipline that must balance form and function in order to be truly effective.
In her career, Michelle has created Emmy-nominated title sequences for Band of Brothers, Magic City, and Black Sails, and has directed global commercial advertising campaigns for brands including Microsoft, Gillette, and Toyota. Michelle’s projects have garnered awards from D&AD and The Art Directors Club, as well as being featured at the Walker, Hammer, and Cooper-Hewitt. Her work has been published in the highly rated book Graphic Design: Now In Production, and has been featured in Communication Arts, Art of the Title, and Creativity, to name a few. In addition to her role at Imaginary Forces, Michelle is also an ambassador to a class at Otis College of Art and Design, focusing on the importance of utilizing visual literacy to demonstrate mastery of a topic to an audience.
