Alex Robbins (YG8) has updated his sight to feature some of his new projects, including work for The New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and Fader Magazine.

For the New York Times Magazine, Alex created typography based on slang words used in American colleges. For The Fader Magazine, his illustration of DJ Nate (a notable figure in Chicago’s footwork scene) is formed of sneaker sole treads to reflect the frenetic dance moves associated with DJ Nate’s music.

Both Alex and fellow Young Guns 8 winner Sophia Martineck were interviewed by Page Magazin (Germany) about their illustrations and creative processes. Unfortunately, the main article isn’t online, but you can check out the issue here.
