ADC Walks DUMBO Close-up: Singularity&Co.
ADC's November open house takes us into a world of science fiction and beyond.
What’s it like to work at some of New York’s coolest creative spots? ADC Walks: DUMBO is the latest initiative by ADC, a neighborhood wide open house celebrating creative entrepreneurship. Join us on November 6 as we travel door to door in the DUMBO community, visiting a variety of businesses, from design studios to production companies to startups.
Singularity&Co is just one of the businesses participating in ADC Walks. Founded in 2012 as a result of a highly successful Kickstarter project, it is New York’s only independent bookstore and publisher dedicated to bringing vintage science fiction, fantasy, adventure genre pulp back to the future (and comics too)! Their “Save the Sci-Fi” and “Save the Adventure” projects are ongoing mission to bring out-of-print sc- fi and adventure stories back to life as e-books.
We chatted with Cici James, Founder of Singularity&Co., to find out more about their magical workspace.
Describe your work culture in 140 characters.
@singularityco is a rag-tag band of sci-fi lovers, comic books nerds, and artsy geeks-at-heart devoted to bringing genre pulp back to the future!
What can visitors expect when they visit your space?
To step into Singularity&Co. is to travel back in time while touring the crowded hive mind of genre pulp devotees past, present and future(s)!
Tell us something that people might not know about you business.
Singularity&Co is only possible today because of a Kickstarter campaign so wildly successful the founders were able to launch both their brick-and-mortar shop AND their Save the Sci Fi indie publishing project simultaneously!
Visit the bookstore and learn more at ADC Walks: DUMBO, coming up on November 6 from 7-9 PM.
