The 90th ADC Annual Awards Gala is fast approaching! ADC invites you to celebrate the best creative work of the year on May 10th at the Hotel Eventi Ballroom in New York City. In preparation we asked members of this year’s Awards Jury to share their creative wisdom. Dan Mall is an award-winning interactive art director, designer and developer who has a passion for playing matchmaker between surprising art direction and intuitive interation design.
What inspires you to create?
Reminding people that they’re human. The ability to make someone laugh, cry, hurt, rejoice, and share is an incredibly powerful gift.
What are the key components to a strong campaign?
A tremendous amount of value while asking very little of the person using it. People are growing increasingly more cynical towards advertising, so seeing campaigns that ask too much is infuriating. Getting a campaign to resonate even slightly is a major achievement; finding campaigns that overcome that challenge with great ease is what this show is about.
While judging here at the ADC what moments have you enjoyed the most?
Heated debate with brilliant people over excellent work.
